What would happen to UK if it stopped its Navy from policing the world as many prosperous nations do not have a Navy that patrols the globe?

USA would increase its patrols, and ask UK to reimburse.

Not much, we only have about 3 ships.

Nothing much. Silly Navy would just play in Southampton.
